Thor, a marvel comic book super hero has become popular lately because of Thor, Avengers, and Thor 2. Thor first appeared in Journey into Mystery #83 but what makes this Thor character interesting is the story starts out with a very frail Dr. Blake encountering stone men from outer space. Dr. Blake encounters a cave while the stone men are chasing him . Dr. Blake goes into the cave and finds a secret chamber with an old walking stick. Dr. Blake has no idea that once the stick is picked up. He will turn into the Thor, the legendary god of thunder. His stick turns into the hammer and possesses the power of Thor. Thor learns some tricks about his powers the hammer when thrown will always return to him. The hammer tapped twice will create horrible weather conditions like tornadoes and high winds. If the hammer is tapped once Thor turns back into Dr.Blake. Marvel did not use this version in their Thor comic books for the Thor movie in 2011.
